Eligibility Requirements

Career Pathway Courses
Grade Level 10th, 11th & 12th
Minimum GPA 2.0
Earn one or more technical college credentials in high-demand career fields. Available to 10th, 11th, and 12th graders -- no placement test required.
Example Credential
Automotive Engine Performance TCC
AUTT 1010 -- Automotive Technology Introduction (2 credits)
AUTT 1020 -- Automotive Electrical Systems (7 credits)
AUTT 1040 -- Automotive Engine Performance (7 credits)
Academic Core Courses
Grade Level 11th & 12th Only
Minimum GPA 2.5
Earn college and high school credits at the same time by selecting from a number of academic core courses.
Example Credits
1 semester of ENGL 1101 = 1 year of HS English
1 semester of MATH 1111 = 1 year of HS Math
Guaranteed Transfer -- All GA Public Colleges & Universities
Just like Georgia State University, our core courses are accepted at hundreds of colleges and universities beyond Georgia -- including out-of-state public and private schools. Search any school's course equivalency tool to see exactly how your credits transfer.
How Funding Works
Each Dual Enrollment configuration comes with its own specialized funding from the Georgia Student Finance Commission. Select a funding type below to learn about eligibility and requirements.

Dual Enrollment Grant
GA Futures -- up to 30 credit hours
Create a Georgia Futures application -- use this step-by-step guide
Have your courses approved by your high school counselor in GA Futures
Confirm your Social Security Number is correct in your application
Males age 18 and up must register for Selective Service
Reapply to GA Futures every school year (May -- April)
Maintain a 2.0 GPA for career courses and a 2.5 GPA for academic courses
Covers: Career pathway courses for 10th graders, and both career and academic courses for 11th and 12th graders. Funds up to 30 credit hours. Not covered: lab/materials fees, malpractice insurance for health programs, and repeat courses after a failure.
HOPE Career Grant
For students in high-demand career programs
Create a Georgia Futures application
Enroll in a HOPE Career Grant approved program -- view approved program list
Complete the residency form
Have courses approved by your high school counselor
Confirm your Social Security Number is correct in your application
Males age 18 and up must register for Selective Service
Reapply to GA Futures every school year
Covers: Programs that prepare students for direct workforce entry in high-demand fields. Students must be enrolled in a HOPE Career Grant approved program of study.

Accelerated Career program -- graduate with workforce credentials
Create a GSFAPP application -- this application lasts for 10 years!
Be enrolled in 2 ACE-approved TCC programs, OR a Diploma program, OR an Associate Degree -- view program list
Remain enrolled in high school and complete 9 required HS courses: 2 English, 2 Math, 2 Science, 2 Social Studies, and 1 Health/PE

Self-Pay
Paying out of pocket for your courses
·Courses were not approved by your high school counselor in GA Futures
·You failed a course -- failed courses will not be funded
·You are retaking a previously failed course
·You did not meet SAP (Satisfactory Academic Progress) requirements
·The course is not approved by your funding source or program of study -- view DE Course Directory
·You have run out of GA Futures funding
To set up self-pay: Receive approval from your high school counselor, complete the residency form, and complete the self-pay form. Contact the DE Office for assistance.
