Dual Enrollment Partnership
DeKalb High School of Technology South & Georgia Piedmont Technical College
Georgia Piedmont Technical College (GPTC) and DeKalb County School District (DCSD) have launched a first-of-its-kind partnership at DeKalb High School of Technology South (DHSTS). Beginning this fall, students are taking real college courses directly on the DHSTS campus, built into the school day. Students are not just completing a CTAE pathway, they are earning a real, stackable college credential before they walk across their graduation stage.
Students are enrolled in one of three selected CTAE pathways at DHSTS: Law, Cybersecurity, or Welding. Based on the pathway selected, students complete a full year of college coursework and earn one or more Technical Certificates of Credit (TCCs) from GPTC while attending either the AM or PM session at DHSTS. A TCC is an official, stackable college credential that demonstrates mastery in a specific career and technical area. It is recognized by employers, transferable to other TCSG and USG institutions, and a meaningful credential in its own right.
A Note on Graduation
Students who successfully complete their pathway and earn their GPTC credentials are eligible to walk at both their high school graduation ceremony and the GPTC College Graduation Ceremony. That is an honor earned twice over.

Next Steps
In order to be considered for enrollment, there are two applications required. These applications must be completed by your student before courses can begin in August. Applications are due by August 7, 2026. Please act on these steps as soon as possible, the semester begins quickly, and all paperwork must be in place before registration can be finalized. Your student should take the lead in completing these steps.

After You Submit
Two things need to happen after you apply
Email Your Transcript
Send an unofficial transcript with your GPA visible to DualEnrollment@GPTC.edu. Find it in Infinite Campus under "Documents." Your counselor can also send it.
Parent: Check Your Email
GPTC will email a Participation Agreement (DEPA) to the parent or guardian email provided. It must be signed before enrollment can proceed.
Important, Transcripts
Do not submit your transcript through GAFutures, we cannot access those, and many do not include a GPA. Email directly to DualEnrollment@GPTC.edu.

How to Apply: GAFutures Funding
This activates your state tuition funding. Without it, your student pays out of pocket. Required every school year.

Complete the Funding Application

Select the 2026–27 school year.

Under Student Demographics, verify your SSN and date of birth are correct.

Under High School: select your school. In "I Plan to Enroll," select May 2026 – April 2027.

Under College Selection, select Georgia Piedmont Technical College.

Under Student Acknowledgement: read and check each box. Read HOPE Grant Implications, click "I Understand," type your first and last name as your signature, and click Submit.

Write down your Dual Enrollment Application ID shown on the confirmation screen. Your parent will need this number to complete their portion.

GAFutures will email a Participation Agreement to the parent or guardian. They will need the student's Application ID and date of birth to complete it. Both the GPTC and GAFutures agreements must be signed.
Males Turning 18
Students who will turn 18 during the semester must register for Selective Service to receive GA Futures funding. This is required by the Georgia Student Finance Commission.
Do Not Skip This Step
Funding will NOT be approved if this application is incomplete or the parent agreement is unsigned. Your student will owe tuition out of pocket.
Step 3, We Handle Registration
Once both applications and both agreements are complete, our team registers your student. No further action needed from your family.
