Program Director, Business Management and Marketing Management
Adrianne Caldwell currently is the Program Director for the Marketing and Management programs as well as the sole full time marketing instructor. Prior to starting her career in education with GPTC, she worked for over 17 years in multi-unit retail management and merchandising with several Fortune 100 and 500 companies including Walmart, Macy’s and Dollar Tree. Her roles included a Specialty Groups District Manager as well as a Market Fashion Merchandiser with Walmart, a Regional Merchandise Manager for Macy’s and a District Manager with Dollar Tree. Within a year of Caldwell's employment with GPTC, she took on the additional role of Program Director along with marketing instructor.
She is married with two sons, ages 25 and nine. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with my family, doing community service, fashion and shopping, traveling, enjoying good food, and mindless celebrity entertainment gossip.
Kristin Corkhill joined GPTC in the Fall of 2017 as the Director of High School Initiatives. A southwest Florida native, she has spent over a decade working in both the K-12 and Higher Education arenas in Washington, DC and Florida before relocating to the metro-Atlanta area. Corkhill's academic journey began as a high school dual enrollment student at the community college in her hometown, before enrolling at the University of Florida where she earned both her B.A. and M.A. in History. Embracing the mission of open-access education, Corkhill most enjoys working with educational partners to connect students to academic and occupational opportunities. Currently, Corkhill is finishing her doctorate with the Peabody College of Education at Vanderbilt University. In her spare time, she enjoys relaxing with her spouse Anthony and their two dogs, cheering Gator sports, and recharging by the pool with her family in Florida.
Special Populations Analyst
Tyreece C. Echols is enthusiastic and passionate about bringing out the very best in students academically and in their career pursuits. She enjoys combining her experience in higher education, business, banking and mortgage industries to serve her students. Echols holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Albany State University and a Master of Arts degree in Leadership with an emphasis in organizations from Shorter University.
Previously, Echols has worked for Georgia State University, Virginia College and Southern Crescent Technical College as an adjunct instructor, tutor and career and academic advisor. Echols also enjoys serving her community by conducting workshops on how to maximize the benefits of LinkedIn, creating a winning resume and cover letter, and goal setting and vision board parties. Some of these platforms include: Dress for Success Atlanta, Association of Talent Development (ATD), Westwood College, Georgia Christian Business Network (GCBN), Morehouse School of Medicine, Strayer University, Griffin-Spalding Chamber of Commerce and Virginia College.
Echols is excited and honored to serve students and staff at Georgia Piedmont Technical College, previously as Retention Specialist and recently as Special Populations Analyst.
Chief of Police
Christopher Hughes is the Chief of Police at Georgia Piedmont Technical College. The goal as the Chief of Police is to ensure the safety and security for all of the faculty, staff, and students on GPTC campuses.
Before becoming the Chief of Police at GPTC Hughes was a Sergeant for four years at Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville, GA.
Previous to that he was an officer for almost two years at GCSU as well. Hughes began his career in law enforcement after completing a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice at GCSU. Hughes went on to attend Command College at Columbus State University and received his Master’s Degree in Public Administration.
Hughes enjoys traveling, working out, watching sports, and spending time with his wife and dog.
His future career goals include completing his Doctorate Degree in Higher Education and furthering his career in Higher Education.
Vita Jordan is a 17 ½ year state employee but worked in the private industry prior to joining the state in 2002. She is married to Winston Jordan, Jr. and they have 2 children. Mikayla and Justin Jordan. Jordan is originally from Darlington, South Carolina and the daughter of Virgil and Juanita Wells. She is the youngest of 3 children. Brother - Virgil Wells, III and sister, Vanessa Milligan. She received her Bachelors of Science Degree in Accounting from Clark Atlanta University and her Masters of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from Mercer University both in Atlanta.
She is a member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Jordan enjoys traveling, watching and playing sports (track and field, football, gymnastics, and basketball). Her most recent hobby has been cycling with her husband.
Jordan's career goals are to serve at the executive level of an organization as a Chief Financial Officer or Vice President.
Coordinator, Newton Conference Center
Kevin Lane is the Coordinator for the Newton Conference Center. He also assists Economic Development by managing the non-credit Georgia Film Academy classes and the GDC/TCSG contracts among several other administrative duties.
He is originally from the Georgia Coast. Lane is a graduate of the University of Georgia and Herzing University. Outside of Georgia Piedmont Technical College, Lane is an instructor with the State Bar of Georgia’s BASICS (Bar Association Support to Improve Correctional Services) Program.
The BASICS program provides instruction to men and women who are incarcerated and who will be released in the near future. The class focuses on financial management, entrepreneurship, soft skills, job skills and basic life skills.
When time permits, he spends time on the tennis court. Lane enjoys trying new restaurants, especially ones that offer vegetarian cuisine.
Antwania Massey attended Georgia Piedmont Technical College and received her cosmetology diploma in 2007 and an Instructor Trainee Certificate in 2011. She began working at GPTC in August 2011 as a cosmetology adjunct instructor teaching the dual enrollment courses at NCCA.
In 2014, Massey became a full time employee at GPTC and is now serving as the Cosmetology Program Director. Outside of work Massey serves as the assistant director of the young adult choir and a youth ministry instructor at The Way The Truth and The Life Christian Center.
In her spare time, Massey loves arts and crafts and she is an extreme Marvel and Dc fan. She also loves making creative culinary dishes with her husband and daughter.
Meghan McBride, EdD
Vice President, Adult Education
Dr. Meghan R. McBride currently serves as Vice President for Adult Education at GPTC. She is a former adult learner who attained a GED® diploma from Southern Regional Technical College (SRTC) in 2000. After completing two diploma programs at SRTC, she attended Valdosta State University (VSU) where she received a Bachelor of Science degree (BSEd) in Secondary Education (2007), a Master of Arts degree (MA) in History (2011), and a Doctor of Education degree (EdD) in Curriculum and Instruction (2018).
She has been named Distinguished Alumnus at SRTC (2017), Distinguished Alumnus at VSU (2019), and Doctoral Student of the Year at VSU (2017). She is currently a student at the University of Georgia where she is pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy degree (PhD) in Learning, Leadership, and Organization Development, which she hopes to complete in 2025.
Prior to joining the college in 2018, Dr. McBride taught history at the secondary and post-secondary levels and worked in university enrollment management. Dr. McBride Dr. McBride hopes to one day serve as a community college president like her mentor, Dr. Tavarez Holston.
Lead Instructor, Adult Education
Growing up in the small town of Milledgeville, Ga. shaped Chasidy Parks into the person she is today. After graduating from high school, she obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration in Risk Management from Georgia State University and a Master of Business Administration in Business Management from Troy University. Parks has worked at Georgia Piedmont Technical College for seven years in the Adult Education Department. She is currently the Lead Teacher at the South DeKalb Campus.
Among students and staff, she is known for her friendly, over-the-top and fun personality. Her career aspiration is to one day become a campus dean or spearhead a program that is dedicated to providing resources to college students in need. When I am not working, spending time with my family is her main priority. She enjoy watching TV, participating in her children’s extracurricular activities, website building, arts & crafts and catering events with her husband.
Coordinator, Business and Industry
Kelly Pollard has over 31 years of experience in the Technical Education field and Business arena. Pollard began working as an account executive for United Parcel Service in 1989 after graduating from Troy State University. In 2000, Kelly joined Georgia Piedmont Technical College as the coordinator for the Georgia Fatherhood Program. In 2004, he then moved to the Student Affairs Department. Kelly now serves as the Coordinator of Recruitment at Georgia Piedmont Technical College. For the last 19 years, Pollard has served as an ambassador for Technical Educational in Georgia. Pollard's ultimate goal is to pursue the role of Dean of Students Affairs.
Pollard is a husband and father of two teenage sons.
Pollard loves giving back to his community in countless way through community service and working as a mentor with The Young Men of Excellence and The LEAD Foundation, both, which are Male Leadership organizations of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity. Pollard's favorite hobby is cooking.
Ramona Pollard, EdD
Coordinator, Academic Affairs
Ramona is a native of Nashville, TN. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and a Master of Business Administration degree from Norwich University in Northfield, VT. After numerous years in sales and finance, she transitioned into higher education teaching Finance and Business Management.
In 2018, Pollard was blessed to attain a major milestone, she successfully defended her dissertation based on her passion for financial education entitled, “The Impact of Financial Literacy on Student Persistence at Two-Year Colleges: An Empirical Study”. She now holds a Doctorate of Education in Higher and Postsecondary Education from Argosy University.
Pollard transitioned to the role of Academic Affairs Coordinator at Georgia Piedmont Technical College in 2019. Among numerous initiatives, she focuses on faculty development to promote student success and achievement.
As the natural progression of growth continues in her life, she hopes to preside over a college in the future.
Pollard enjoys traveling, reading, and decorating her new home. She is happily married to the love of her life, Kelly. They have two amazing sons, Ben and Derrick.
Executive Director, Institutional Advancement and GPTC Foundation
Cory Thompson is an award-winning marketing professional and an Emmy award winning journalist. For more than a decade he has championed post-secondary education within the Technical College System of Georgia and has held various leadership positions at Georgia Piedmont Technical College. Currently he is the Executive Director of Intuitional Advancement and Executive Director of the Georgia Piedmont Technical College Foundation.
Prior to that he was Executive Director of Marketing & Communication, Director of Marketing, Director of Program Development and Director of Public Relations & Information at GPTC.
Before joining the administration, he served on the Board of Directors of the college.
Before moving into technical education, Thompson spent three decades as a broadcast journalist. He held positions as News Anchor/Reporter at TV stations in Atlanta, GA, Cleveland, Ohio, Mississippi, Louisiana, California and his home town of Des Moines, Iowa where he graduated from Grand View University.
Program Director, Design & Media, Drafting Technology, and Recording Arts
Born in New Jersey, Stephanie Votolin has also lived in Georgia, Florida, Idaho, and California. As a result, her accent, which is a mixture of those regional dialects, causes people to think she’s Canadian. She’s visited all 50 states, and has been to 47 different countries.
Voltolin holds an AFA from Young Harris College, an AS and a BS in Architectural Engineering Technology from Southern Poly, an online certification in Digital Photography from Harvard, and a Paralegal certification from Emory.
After 17 years in the design industry, she transitioned to academia by first working as a substitute teacher. As of 2020, she has 12 years of experience in post-secondary design education. She’s currently the Program Director for the New Media department.
Outside of work, she does the exact same things she does at work, minus the grading.
She and her husband Stephen share their home in Lithonia with three lovely felines.
