STONECREST, Ga. (December 8, 2025) – Georgia Piedmont Technical College (GPTC) has announced the upcoming opening of its Regional Transportation Training Center (RTTC), a state-of-the-art facility designed to prepare students for high-demand careers across Georgia’s rapidly growing transportation and logistics industries. The redesigned center, set to open in early January 2026, will serve as a hub for innovation, skills training and cross-industry collaboration.

Developed in partnership with MARTA, Georgia Power, and several key community and municipal partners, the RTTC will provide ample classroom and training space for aspiring professionals in commercial driving, fleet maintenance, logistics, and other emerging technologies that are transforming the movement of people and goods throughout the region.

“Transportation drives opportunity in Georgia,” said Dr. Tavarez Holston, President of Georgia Piedmont Technical College. “This new training center reflects our mission to power Georgia forward—connecting students with the skills and credentials that keep our communities and economy going.”

The Regional Transportation Training Center exemplifies the college’s commitment to workforce innovation and regional economic development.

The center, located at 6720 Marbut Road in Stonecrest, is expected to welcome its first cohort of students in Spring Semester 2026. A ribbon-cutting and building dedication is scheduled for the first week of January.
