Jasmine Payne-Patterson Senior State Policy Coordinator
Jasmine Payne-Patterson joined the Economic Policy Institute in 2023 as Senior State Policy Strategist for the Economic Analysis and Research Network (EARN). She is dedicated to removing systemic barriers and works to address intergenerational poverty, promote socioeconomic mobility, and advance equity. Her work has been cited in Essence, CNN, The Associated Press, The Valley Labor Report, and other outlets.
Payne-Patterson has conducted research and advocacy at local, state, and federal levels, holding positions with numerous nonprofits, government agencies, and campaigns. Her previous roles include positions with the United States House of Representatives, the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, CARE, and the Atlanta Community Food Bank, among other community-focused organizations. She has also served on the boards of Blueprint58, a Workers’ Rights board, her homeowner’s association, and additional community organizations.
She holds a Master of Public Administration from Georgia State University and a Bachelor of Arts from Spelman College. She believes that everyone can be a catalyst for change and that “we are the ones that we have been waiting for."
