This course focuses on caring for adult patients with health issues requiring medical or surgical treatment. This course will build on what was taught in previous nursing classes, including pharmacological management of disease processes. The nurse's role as a caregiver will involve focusing on the patients' needs; working together as a team; using evidencebased practices; improving the quality of care; ensuring safety; using technology effectively; acting professionally; and demonstrating leadership. The course includes classroom theory, skills lab or simulation, and clinical experiences where students can apply concepts and provide care to adult patients in various healthcare settings.
