The Georgia Piedmont Technical College Foundation offers a number of scholarships annually. The purpose of these scholarships is to attract, recognize and reward outstanding students. Some scholarships are awarded based on financial need; others are based on academic merit.
Scholarships are available to students who are currently enrolled or pre-registered in credit or non-credit programs. A student is eligible to receive up to two scholarships per academic year. (July 1 – June 30) The awarding of the scholarships is given solely at the discretion of the Scholarship Committee.
The Scholarship Committee has sole discretion in the recommendation of scholarship awards or declines, which may be based on:

Snapping Shoals Scholarship
The application submission deadline for this scholarship is August 1st of each year, which will be extended for additional terms until scholarship is awarded.
This scholarship is awarded to students who are residents of Newton, Rockdale, Henry, Butts, Morgan, Walton or Jasper County, and subscribers of Snapping Shoals Electric Membership Corporation Services. Scholarships will be awarded to students that demonstrate financial need, and will be awarded in the amount of $400.

The Rotary Club of Stone Mountain Scholarship
The scholarship is awarded to current GPTC full-time students in good standing pursuing a degree or diploma program at GPTC DeKalb Campus. Scholarship will be equal to the total current in-state tuition and fees.

The Rotary Club of Covington Scholarship
The purpose of this scholarship is not only to assist a student financially but also to educate the recipient about Rotary International, Rotary Club of Covington, and Rotary in general in the spirit of its namesake, Otis Spillers. This scholarship is awarded to residents of Newton County. The Georgia Piedmont Technical College Scholarship Committee shall identify three potential recipients and determine need-based eligibility and Newton County residency. The finalists may be invited to a personal interview held in conjunction with a regular meeting of the Rotary. All finalists will be invited to attend the regular meeting in conjunction with the interview. The President of the Rotary Club will appoint, with the Board of Directors approval, a three person committee to oversee the selection process, scholarship renewal and general oversight of the funds and process.

Dr. Mike Richardson Award – GED Testing Scholarship
GED students may be nominated by their teacher for the Dr. Mike Richardson Award which covers the cost of the GED testing fee and is given to students that have demonstrated the necessary skills to pass the GED Test and have exhibited the qualities of perseverance, determination and integrity.
Friends of LEA Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to students enrolled in the Law Enforcement, EMT, or Fire Sciences Academies. Scholarships are awarded to a student who demonstrates financial need and exceptional work ethic. Applicants for this scholarship must be recommended by the Director, or Program Director, of the Law Enforcement, EMT, or Fire Sciences programs of the Public Safety and Security Department. All applicants must be in good academic standing with the College and demonstrate career potential and outstanding academic achievements.

Clifford H. "Ted" Rees, Jr. Scholarship
The Clifford H. "Ted" Rees, Jr. Scholarship Foundation was established to assist with the recruitment and competency of future heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVACR) technicians. Students preparing for a career in the HVACR industry are encouraged to apply for the Rees Scholarship.
With the goal of helping students focus on their studies and overcome financial hardship, the Foundation awards nearly 100% of all applicants with scholarships. The Foundation proudly supports educational organizations recognized by the Partnership for Air-Conditioning, Heating, Refrigeration Accreditation (PAHRA).

The AT&T – TCSG Foundation Scholarships will be awarded to technical college graduating seniors who meet the following criteria:
- A Graduating GPA of 3.50
- Accepted admission to one of the University System of Georgia universities or colleges
- Demonstrated commitment to their technical college and/or community through their extracurricular/community activities.

The George S. Neath 1st Choice Technical Group Scholarship & Application
The purpose of the George S. Neath 1st Choice Technical Group Scholarship is to reward academic excellence and provide a financial incentive for students who:
- Are working towards the completion of a degree or diploma in one of the following fields of study:
- Industrial Systems / Applied Manufacturing
- Electronics / Industrial Electrical Technology
- Electronics Engineering Technology / Electromechanical Engineering Technology (and related areas of instruction)
- Are beginning their 2nd year in one of the above named degree/diploma programs and have maintained a 2.5 GPA at the completion of their first year
- Are enrolled as a fulltime student (12 credit hours or more)
The $500.00 scholarship will be given directly to the student to use at his/her discretion.
Please note that special consideration will be given to veterans/military men and women.

The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation's Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship
Annual Application Deadline – December 1st
The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation's Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship honors excellence by supporting outstanding community college students with financial need to transfer to and complete their bachelor's degrees at the nation's top four-year colleges and universities. The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation's Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship makes it possible for the nation's top community college students to complete their bachelor's degrees by transferring to a four-year college or university. The Foundation provides up to $30,000 per year to each of approximately 50 deserving students selected annually, making it the largest private scholarship for two-year and community college transfer students in the country. Each award is intended to cover a significant share of the student's educational expenses – including tuition, living expenses, books and required fees – for the final two to three years necessary to achieve a bachelor's degree. Awards vary by individual, based on the cost of tuition as well as other grants or scholarships he or she may receive.

Soroptimist International of Atlanta
Soroptimist International of Atlanta, part of Soroptimist International of the Americas, is dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls, in local communities and throughout the world. The
Soroptimist Women's Opportunity Awards are cash awards given to motivated women who are the primary financial supporters of their families. The recipients of the awards seek to improve their lives by gaining additional skills, training or education, but do not have the resources to do so. The cash awards are meant to offset any costs associated with the recipient's efforts to attain higher education, including tuition, books, supplies, child care, or transportation costs.
The local club provides a $1000 cash grant. The winner of the award is eligible to participate in the Region level, where an additional cash award is provided. That winner is then eligible for one of three $10,000 awards at the Federation level.

Shirley Carver Miller Scholarship
The purpose of the
Shirley Carver Miller Scholarship is to reward GED graduates by providing a financial incentive to work towards continuing their education at one of Georgia's technical colleges in any field of study of their choosing.

Two $500 scholarships to a TCSG college will be awarded annually. Students may apply by completing the Shirley Carver Miller Scholarship application form. The deadline for receipt of all materials is May 1, 2011.

John K. Morgan Scholarship Fund

Mission
The John K. Morgan Scholarship is established to recognize outstanding community service in Rockdale County. The scholarship will be awarded to an individual who has demonstrated this outstanding community service in Rockdale County and plans to continue that level of commitment while pursuing post secondary education. The scholarship will be awarded to assist with college related expenses only.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be a Rockdale County resident.
- Demonstrated outstanding community service in Rockdale County as a volunteer
- Anticipating completion of a high school diploma or GED at the time of application;
- Plans to pursue post secondary education
- Must be eligible for post secondary enrollment in degree or certificate program at an accredited institution.
- If selected for the scholarship, will commit to:
- Providing a quarterly report of community service hours that describes the service.
- Serving a minimum of five hours a month to maintain scholarship and be eligible for renewal of the scholarship. The scholarship may be renewed for up to three years.
- Being at a minimum a part-time student in good standing at the post-secondary instution.
To apply, you must follow these steps:
- Applicants can apply between October 2012 and January 31, 2013. Final applications must be postmarked no later than January 31, 2013.
- Include in the application a narrative describing your community service in Rockdale County including the name of the organization, dates of service, and type of service. (Maximum of 1000 words.)
- Include a copy of current official high school transcript or official record of progress toward GED (If selected, applicant must provide a copy of final transcripts or official GED certificate to demonstrate eligibility for post secondary enrollment.)
- Provide two letters of recommendation – one must be from a recipient of your community service.
