Financial Aid
What is financial aid?
Financial aid is money used to pay for your education. Financial aid is generally in the form of grants, scholarships, loans, and/or work-study program.
What type of financial aid is offered at Georgia Piedmont Technical College?
Georgia Piedmont Technical College offers a variety of financial aid programs that include grants and scholarships that are non-repayable. Click here for grants and scholarships information. We also participate in the state loan program, Student Access Loan (SAL). SAL is a low cost state-funded loan program. Go to www.gacollege411.org for eligibility requirements and application.
I probably don't qualify for aid. Should I apply for aid anyway?
Yes, many families mistakenly think they don't qualify for financial aid and prevent themselves from receiving aid by failing to apply for it. Please visit www.fafsa.ed.gov and complete the latest FAFSA application.
Do I need to be admitted before I can apply for financial aid?
No. You can apply for financial aid anytime after January 1. To receive funds, however, you must be admitted and enrolled at the college.
Do I have to reapply for financial aid every year?
Yes. If your financial circumstances change, you may get more or less aid. After your first year you will receive a "Renewal Application" which contains preprinted information from the previous year's FAFSA. Renewal of your financial aid package also depends on Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP). Please visit www.gptc.edu/admissions/finaidforms1112/sapappealpolicy.pdf for SAP Policy information.
What will it cost for you to attend Georgia Piedmont?
