Georgia Piedmont Technical College Announces the Launch of GPTC-TV

Clarkston, GA - January 07, 2012

Georgia Piedmont Technical College (Formerly DeKalb Technical College) has broadened its global presence by officially launching GPTC-TV, the Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) network primarily designed to showcase and feature various initiatives, activities and events occurring within several divisions and departments at the College. Located on the Internet at, GPTC-TV is available to view 24-hours a day, and will complement Georgia Piedmont Technical College's newly updated website and social media endeavors.

"The successful launch and online existence of GPTC-TV heightens the awareness of Georgia Piedmont Technical College, while serving as a viable outlet to foster rewarding, mutually beneficial alliances between the College and the community at large," said Nicole Carter, GPTC-TV producer and project manager. "As we aim to keep viewers engaged and abreast of existing and new developments at Georgia Piedmont Technical College, we also want GPTC-TV to continually appeal to diverse audiences."

GPTC-TV is structured in a user-friendly format with 20 distinct channels ranging from 'College Leadership' and 'Partners in Education' to 'Industrial Technologies' and 'Business Information Systems'. This new, groundbreaking network will evolve with many more channel segments added to provide viewers with a well-rounded viewing experience. GPTC-TV will broadcast fresh, informative content relevant to Georgia Piedmont Technical College accessible to faculty, staff, students, and the global community to get a diversified glimpse of the College. Presently powered by Multimedia Digital Broadcast Corporation, the network will occasionally present live broadcasts in addition to the pre-taped segments.
