About the LEA

The Basic Mandate program at Georgia Piedmont Technical College is a fulltime, 17 week, paramilitary structured program with a stringent admission process. Our program currently runs three times a year. The classes run Monday through Friday from 7:30 in the morning until 6:15 in the evening with some night training throughout the course. This program incorporates a vigorous daily physical fitness program and law enforcement tactics training that may incur risk of injury. It also requires 100% attendance with an emergency absence allowance of 5% of the program. There are no online or part-time classes for this program. Upon graduation you will be a POST certified Law Enforcement Officer.

The LEA program is financial aid eligible; Federal student loans, PELL grant, including HOPE Grant, GI Bill, etc. Also, as a pre-service student (one who is not already hired by a law enforcement agency) you will have an estimated $900 out of pocket charges to get in the program.
