Certified Nurse Assistant

Program Information
This program prepares students for entry-level positions in the nursing field as a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA). Students completing the program work as nursing assistants in nursing homes, health care agencies, hospitals and for private individuals. Students learn to take vital signs (blood pressure, temperature and pulse) and to feed, bathe, and to transport clients safely. Students also complete courses in anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, and interpersonal relations and professional development.

Program Requirements
To receive a certificate from Georgia Piedmont Technical College (GPTC), students must complete 50% of their course work at GPTC.
