Vision
Georgia Piedmont Technical College will be the premier institution for technical and adult education with a global commitment to personal, professional, and community transformation.

Mission Statement
Georgia Piedmont Technical College, a unit of the Technical College System of Georgia, promotes a student-centered environment for lifelong learning and development, encompassing academic and technical education for employment in a global community.

Our Strategic Goals, Actions, and Strategies

Goal I: Educational Excellence

  1. Create a data-driven environment that supports student development and student success and enhances the social and economic well-being of the student.
  2. Provide opportunities for personal success through a quality education that leads to employment and continuing education.
  3. Provide adults with literacy and pathways to lifelong learning.

Goal II: Engagement Excellence

  1. Create a responsive, student-centered culture that recognizes the uniqueness of each student as central to the learning process.
  2. Strengthen the college’s involvement and relationship in the community through credit and non-credit program development, partnerships and community awareness.
  3. Improve the economic condition of communities served.

Goal III: Management Excellence

  1. Foster management excellence by ensuring the use of best practices leading to optimal efficiencies and employee engagement and satisfaction.
  2. Attract visionary leaders, support open communications, and implement data-driven changes.
  3. Ensure fiscal responsibility through aligning the budget with the strategic plan.

Goal IV: Communication Excellence

  1. Establish and promote internal and external communications that advance the college’s mission.
  2. Elevate the image of the college in the community through mutually beneficial partnerships and programs that contribute to the economic growth of the college’s service area.
  3. Communicate with external and internal constituencies as well as stakeholders efficiently, effectively, and in a timely manner.

Action and Implementation Planning

Note: The following action planning and implementation outline suggests conceptualization and design in FY 2014, assembly and pilot implementation in FY 2015, and full implementation in FY 2016.

I. Achieving and Sustaining Educational Excellence

Objectives:

      1. Create a data-driven environment that supports student development and student success while enhancing the social and economic well-being of the student.
        Strategies:
        1. Improve data collection, analysis, and reporting
        2. Establish and implement a process for Academic Program Review
      2. Create a responsive, student-centered culture that recognizes the uniqueness of each student as central to the learning process.
        Strategies:
        1. Enhance the student experience through the establishment of the First Year Focus program.
        2. Establish Center for Teaching Excellence
      3. Provide opportunities for personal success by providing a quality education that leads to employment and continuing education.
        Strategies:
        1. Establish One-Stop Shop to Improve the Admissions, Registration and Financial Aid Process
        2. Improve Graduation Process and Results
      4. Provide adults with literacy and pathways to lifelong learning.
        Strategies:
        1. Increase enrollment of GED graduates into credit programs
        2. Increase participate in Accelerating Opportunities and similar programs
        3. Increase participation in targeted recruitment and outreach events
