Complete the GED® test by the end of 2013, and then go on to college, a better job, the respect you deserve, and the accomplishment of earning your high school diploma.

GED® Testing is conducted at the Georgia Piedmont Technical College (GPTC) Official GED® Testing Centers™ located at the Paul M. Starnes Center, 1085 Montreal Road, Clarkston GA 30021 and the Newton Campus building D, 8100 Bob Williams Parkway, Covington, GA 30014.

The GED® tests are offered as an alternative high school equivalency degree. The GED® tests are made up of five sections, including writing, social studies, science, reading and math. The GPTC Official GED Testing Centers™ offer the 2002 Series GED® tests both on paper and on the computer. Each test section costs $32. The full Battery (5) exams cost $160. The Acceptable forms of payment for Paper Based Testing are cash or money orders.  The acceptable forms of payment for Computer Based Testing are debit or credit cards.

If you've already started the GED® test, you're almost there. Starting in 2014, there will be a new GED® test. Your incomplete scores on the current version of the GED® test will expire at the end of 2013. If you finish now, you won't have to repeat the sections you've already passed. We're here to help you! Paper Based Testing

Testing is normally conducted Thursday and Saturday with Registration the Tuesday prior to testing at 10am or 4pm. *Payment for the test is due at Registration*

Computer Based Testing
Georgia Piedmont Technical College offers the 2002 Series GED® Tests on the computer. If you are 18 and over and do not wish to go through Registration or preparation classes and would like to take the test, you can register on-line at www.GEDcomputer.com or call 1-877-EXAM-GED (392-6433). If you are 16 or 17 and have completed the required orientation, you are eligible to take the computer-based tests as well. You must first create a profile, complete the registration pages and then you can schedule and pay for testing on-line. You may be able to test the same day you schedule in some cases.

Newton Campus Building D – Room 166B
Computer Based Testing is normally conducted Monday and Saturday.

Individuals can pick up "unofficial" scores or "Student Test History" by coming into the Official GED Testing Center™ during office hours.

The GPTC Official GED Testing Center™ cannot give out Official GED® test scores. The testing center can provide Unofficial GED® test scores or "Student Test History." Once testing is completed (computer-based or paper-based), official diplomas and transcripts are mailed from the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG), office of Adult Education, GED® Testing Program. For additional copies of these documents please contact TCSG at 404-679-1645 or www.tcsg.edu. You may print a Transcript Request form directly from the TCSG website.
