Certified Literate Community Program

The Certified Literate Community Program believes that all DeKalb and Newton County residents, including immigrants and refugees, deserve an opportunity to learn to read, write, and speak in English and to advance their level of education. This belief will enhance quality of life, personal success, and economic growth and development. Our mission, through partnerships with other entities, is to increase awareness of the importance of a literate community, to bring together community resources to support literacy services, and to promote and support literacy training for all residents of DeKalb County.

Currently there are GED classes supported by CLCP and the DeKalb/Newton Councils on Literacy at the following locations:
